Dr Cathie Stevens is a clinical psychologist who utilises a range of techniques including cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and psychotherapy to treat a wide range of sleep problems and sleep disorders in adults, including:


* Insomnia

* Sleep difficulties occurring with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, and trauma

* Circadian rhythm disorders

* Planned withdrawal and support for withdrawal from sleeping medication

* Shift-work adjustment

* Excessive daytime sleepiness

* Narcolepsy-cataplexy

* Nightmares, sleepwalking

* Difficulties with CPAP compliance


Each session runs for 50 minutes and costs $170 during business hours and $180 for after hours sessions. You do not need a referral to see me. However Medicare rebates (currently $126.50 per session) are available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year if you have a Mental Health Care Plan referral from your GP or a referral from your psychiatrist. You may be entitled to private health insurance rebates, but check with your insurer first. I have appointments available at my Hawthorn office during business hours and after hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I also have some limited availability on Saturday mornings (on request).
